Our Story...

MüD  Mo  Modular Marketing Systems, is my dedication to my father, Ralph Fedie, he was a true idea guy and a self taught inventor by his own right.  My Dad had an eighth grade education yet was one of the most well educated men I knew.  He looked at life as one big open book of exploration.  He loved to learn!  A day without learning was a day wasted.  He was one of the hardest workers I know.  Whatever it took to get the job done he did. If something had room for improvement, or would make his life easier in using it he'd tear it apart, rework it to meet his needs ... To him maybe all it needed was a little hot glue, some John Deere green spray paint, maybe a little re-wiring, a few new welds here and there and it was just like new!  Well at least to my Dad it was.

My Dad was and still is to this day much of my inspiration.  Toward the end of 2008 my world as I knew it was about to be turned upside-down and be shaken up about a billion times from that point to present.  Some for the worst, mostly for the best and all for a reason.  My profession at that time was at a very uncertain place and it was time for me to make a move as a retail designer and visual merchandiser and decide what my next journey would be.  Little did I know that my next journey would include caring for my Father during his last stages of life and now caring for my Mother.  In December 2008 we learned my Dad's cancer had progressed.  By January 2009 he choose to partake in a clinical trial.  Knowing this would not help him ... he knew it could help others after him.

During his every 3 week chemo treatment for the next few months my parents would stay with my husband and I in our home.  It was at that time that I choose to take this little idea I had for over 15 years and see if I could make it a reality.  With the help of my Dad in building my first prototype MüD  was born in early 2009.

Throughout the next few months between Dr appointments for both him and my mother; who has Lewy Body Dementia, chemo treatments, learning more things about the medical world than I ever thought I would care to know let alone the end of life.  We continued on developing and sharing our prototype with people we knew and many we didn't.  What a journey ... It was a summer I will never forget nor will I ever regret.  All the good, the bad and the ugly!  I know for sure today ... I wouldn't change it for the world.  "Thank You, Dad, for allowing me to be part of your journey."

Sadly, August 15, 2009 my Dad left us peacefully in our home.  What an honor it was to do for a man who still today is touching lives of people he, nor our family will ever know.  My Dad donated his body to science ... the final act of a man who was always there to lend a hand and help a neighbor or a stranger.  What an inspiration he still is....

Today, I am now the president, head designer and inventor of MüD  Modular Marketing Systems.  I have continued to grow MüD  and develop it much farther than I could have ever dreamed.  My Mother, LaVon, continued with live with my husband, Chris, our dog Moses and I in our home in Eau Claire, WI until she passed peacefully on July 15, 2011.  During that time between running MüD    and caring for my mother; I also started and facilitate the Chippewa Valley Lewy Body Dementia Caregiver Support Group in Eau Claire, WI in hopes of raising awareness of Lewy Body Disease.  I have been extremely blessed to have been able to care for my father, take a little idea and turn it into reality and to have continued to care for my mother through the end of her journey.  Which I couldn't have done this without the support of my clients, future customers and most of all my loving and supportive husband and dog-son, Moses, who is the official spokes-dog for MüD .

Thank you for your time and interest in learning our story.  I look forward to working with you on helping you achieve the impact you expect to get out of your Trade-show, P.O.P., or Informational display.

Sincerely,

Amy Lokken
